Without Magen David Adom, this boy’s second birthday would not have happened

A child drowning is every parent’s nightmare — and without Magen David Adom, Israel’s only national emergency services system, it might have been one family’s reality.

At just 1 year and 8 months old, Dan Moshe nearly drowned in his family’s backyard pool in Netanya. A neighbor, hearing the parents’ screams, pulled him from the water and called Magen David Adom.

The toddler wasn’t breathing. He had no pulse.

Over the phone, an MDA dispatcher calmly instructed the neighbor in CPR while medics raced to the scene. Just moments later, senior paramedic Oren Hadad arrived and began resuscitation. A Mobile Intensive Care Unit team quickly joined him, working together to revive the toddler as they rushed him to the hospital.

Finally — a heartbeat. And four days later, Dan Moshe opened his eyes.

After months of recovery, he celebrated his second birthday surrounded by loved ones — and the MDA team that saved his life. “It’s really a miracle,” said his grateful parents.

No matter the situation, MDA medics never give up. But they can’t do it without donors like you.

Your gift ensures MDA has the ambulances, training, and equipment needed to save lives in Israel — from backyard accidents to rocket attacks and everything in between.
