The University of Miskolc will celebrate the Year of Volunteering by hosting a Community Creative Day on 5 November 2026.
The event is open to the University’s Hungarian and international students, current and former staff members, alumni and their families.
The day’s arts and crafts activities are made possible by the generous support of non-profit organisations and artists who are volunteering their time, expertise, tools and materials to help bring the event to life.
Some of the items created during the day will be donated to the Advent charity fair held by the Girincs branch of the Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County Special Education Institution, if participants choose to contribute their work. In this way, each handmade creation offers an opportunity to support a good cause. Participants are equally welcome to take their creations home, so donating is entirely optional.
Children with special educational needs from the institution in Girincs will also be joining us and taking part in the creative activities.
A special celebratory programme will take place from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM, beginning with opening remarks by the Rector to mark the Year of Volunteering, followed by a speech from Orchidea Juhász, Head of the Community Service Office, celebrating the Office’s fifth anniversary. Student volunteers will share their personal experiences and the university’s All-Strings Attached Music Club will perform as part of the celebration.
No registration is required. Everyone is warmly welcome to join us at any time throughout the day!
